Courage

Sometimes when you’re looking through a previous sketchbook or journal, a page you had worked on months ago will resonate with you.

And that’s the case here, because some days are tougher than others.

Courage doesn’t always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, “I will try again tomorrow.”
— Mary Anne Radmacher

To try to be brave is to be brave.
— George MacDonald

Dino-mania!

In all my current zest for drawing and painting portraits there’s still an obsession I haven’t given up… Dinosaurs and their ilk!

Sometimes I draw from life-sized models as I did from one in the Birds are Dinosaurs diorama at VINS, the Vermont Institute of Natural Science.

… and other times from small plastic replicas!

Replicas are a lot easier to find!

I see you!

Dino-mite!

I can’t remember which of my friends sent me this meme but they definitely knew my love of paleontology and dinosaurs, both real and plastic.

Plastic is made of oil.

Oil is made of dinosaurs.

Plastic dinosaurs are made from real dinosaurs.

No… oil was formed long before dinosaurs lived. And besides, this dinosaur is made of gouache!
